Display Screen Equipment Assessment

DSE assessments are an important part of your organisations Health & Safety requirements.  

"As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones." (HSE 2019)

Any employee who uses a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone for more than 1 hour a day should undergo an assessment to ensure their needs are being met and they are protected from workplace issues such as pain in necks, shoulders, backs, arms, wrists and hands as well as fatigue and eye strain.  Failure to complete assessments can lead to prosecution as well as open a company up to potential issues caused by staff illness.

As a qualified assessor I carry out assessments on your premises.  Each assessment takes around 15 minutes and individual assessment sheets will be provided for your records.  I can recommend improvements to workstations and will make sure all users are aware of their responsibilities to ensure their own health & safety is protected.  


Costs

Our DSE Assessment costs are as follows:
  • 1 to 10 users   -  £15 per user
  • 11 to 20 users -  £12.50 per user
  • Over 20 users -  £225 per day
A full report of assessment findings will be provided, including individual assessments, within 48 hours of our visit.  Recommendations for equipment or environmental changes will be made.  If an individual requires further assistance in the form of an ergonomic assessment or specialist equipment we will advise you of this.  

We are not suppliers of any equipment but we can recommend sources and providers of full ergonomic assessments.
